Bhargavi – A New Life

Author’s Note: Every one of my women with spunk stories are true stories, narrated to me by the women who went through these challenges in life, and overcame them with sheer grit and determination. Names have been changed to protect their privacy.

Bhargavi’s story was a four-part saga of betrayal, harassment, abuse and finally hope and freedom. A freedom that came after nearly two decades of battling in courts, out of the court. A battle for which she studied law so that she could understand and contribute to every aspect of her case.

If you’d like to read her story first, here are the links to the four-part feature I wrote three years back.

Bhargavi – The Pursuit of Happiness

Bhargavi has continued to be joyful and happy in life, spreading happiness and laughter through her witty and humorous nature. She has even become a blogger in her own right whose tales are both funny and entertaining to read and always leave you smiling.

Last year, Bhargavi reconnected with an old friend, Rishi. Like Bhargavi, Rishi too had been through a bad marriage. His wife cheated on him and never let him anywhere near her, physically or emotionally. He had also been through a painful divorce a few years before he met Bhargavi.

Both connected on many levels. But the main thing that connected them was the common struggles they had endured and the bad cards they had been dealt where life partners were concerned. By this point and understandably so, both of them hated the very idea of marriage and did not want to put themselves through another one, not now or ever.

But both hit it off very well. A good friendship can endure even if you fall out of touch for years. It’s like those years never existed and you just pick up from where you left off. Bhargavi’s children began to enjoy the presence of a mature and sensible father figure, something they never had until this point in life. Rishi had no children from his first marriage and he welcomed the opportunity to build a relationship with Bhargavi’s children.

They wouldn’t admit it for a time to come, but the Universe was slowly nudging them closer than ever to each other. Not just them, the children saw how happy the four of them were, both families could see how Bhargavi and Rishi had finally found happiness and sensible, mature partners in each other.

Bhargavi and Rishi were experiencing the magic too, although they took longer to truly believe it was happening and it was meant to be. A day finally came when they could no longer deny the attraction they felt for each other, and how deeply they were in love with each other.

Last year, with the blessings of both families and to the utter delight of Bhargavi’s children, Bhargavi and Rishi married in a quiet ceremony with only close family in attendance.

As their one year anniversary approaches, I wish for them a lifetime of joy, happiness and companionship. Here’s to new beginnings!
