My neice recently posted a new drawing titled “Perspective” on her art blog. I absolutely loved her work and wanted to attempt it myself. Click here to see the original work that inspired my creation.
While she went greyscale, I opted for colour. I decided to choose vibrant red, pink and purple hues as well as touch up a few small gaps between the riot of flowers with green to depict foliage.
Here’s my attempt:
It’s amazing how the approach is similar and yet different at the same time. We both brought our individual styles into our art and interpreted the same flowers from different angles. Perspective indeed!
This theme of same art different interpretation was repeated last week in my first mandala workshop that I conducted with my sisters and my neice at the behest of my sisters. We enjoyed drawing together and the results were same, yet different.
More on that next week!
