I can’t believe this is my fourth art post already! That marks a month of art posts. Time is truly flying!
I’ve never posted on a schedule before so this “have to post on Monday” has been a new and unique experience.
This week, we celebrated the Hindu festival of Deepavali, the Festival of Lights. While there are several origin stories for the festival, the celebration involves lighting up the household, celebrating true wealth and of course, gorging on goodies with family and friends!
Although I make it a point every year to make a couple of sweets at home for Diwali, this year with the kind of cards we have been dealt, I felt I should do more. I prepared several sweet and savory items and make hampers for family and friends. My way of sending a little bit of care and love to my loved ones.
I couldn’t leave it at just that though. With my growing love for mandalas, I had to absolutely take out some time from preparing all the goodies and cleaning up the house in preparation for the festival. A little me time to draw Diwali on a piece of paper.
Here’s what my Diwali looked like in mandala form. Hope you like it!
Here’s wishing everyone a happy Diwali. May the lights spread health, prosperity and peace all around the world.
