As the adage goes, behind every successful man is a woman. But the reverse is also absolutely true.

In the post COVID era, one of the things that has happened is that the media has exploded with celebrations of one or the other day which until last year I had never even heard of. International men’s day seems to be one of those post COVID additions to our list of special days in the year.

This is one I’m glad made the cut though. I have written a lot about my Appa who was and always will be for me the man who shaped and influenced my foundations.

I’ve been fortunate enough though to have another man in my life who loves me to the moon and back, who has been my absolute rock, who makes me laugh every single day, who stands by me and supports me every step of the way as I take on life and everything that comes with it.

He is truly my partner for life. Over the last two decades, I have had the privilege of sharing this journey of life with someone who has made every single day of my last twenty years memorable.

He’s not given to grand gestures. He’s not the person you go to if you want to be surprised on special occasions. But he more than makes up for it with every small thing he does.

Whether it’s making sure I have a bottle of water always around so I don’t forget to stay hydrated or picking up chores around the house as an equal partner – he has the capability to wow me when I least expect it.

In Anand, I have a husband, a best friend, a mentor, a partner, a joker, a sounding board, a shoulder to cry on… all rolled up into one solid, dependable man.

I am running out of words… not because I don’t have anything more to say but because I can’t find the right words to say it all.

So I’ll just say, I love you Anand. Thank you for everything you’ve brought into my life. Happy International Men’s Day my love!
