She is a killjoy
Sure to whisper doubts in my ear
When happiness makes an appearance
She is a villian
Waiting to throw a spanner in the works
Whenever I feel confident and ready for a challenge
She is a saboteur
Who fuels my weaknesses
And makes me derail my own efforts at improvement
She is a naysayer
Who yells a resounding “no”
Before I even reach to the semblance of a “yes”
She is negativity personified
Pushing all my positivity to the edge
While all I can do is watch
She makes everything difficult
Even the things that should be simple
Turning everything into a massive effort
She blinds me with nonsense
Making the world a murky place
And I can’t see good from bad
The day is not far though
When I will stand up to her
And reclaim the life I am supposed to lead
For you see when I look in the mirror
I have no doubt
My worst enemy…. is me
