One of the first things I attempted (over ambitiously) when I first discovered zentangles was that of an elephant. I soon realized I’d bitten more than I could chew and abandoned the project in favour of simpler patterns to begin with.
Over the years my confidence improved but I’d completely forgotten about my elephant zentangle.
Until someone told me about the Pantone colours of the year. And one of them was grey. As soon as I heard that I was reminded of my favourite creature in the animal kingdom… the elegant, gentle and powerful elephant.
I decided I would use only greyscale colours and here’s the final result!
