I first came across this design when I wrote a poem a couple of years back titled “The Volcano on the Inside”. My neice who has her own art blog lol was working on this particular design and let me use it as the image for the poem as it fitted with the poem’s theme very well.

I was still in my early days of discovering zentangles and mandala art, this looked very complicated and not something I was confident to attempt at the time.

The concept and the design stuck with me though and a few art attempts later, I finally felt I was ready to try this one. I went on a different route as far as the colours went and chose to render a brighter version that my neice’s choice of mostly black with bursts of colour in between.
