Straight From My Art – Wooden Box Decoration

One of our dear friends’ daughter got married in the month of December. A group of friends and colleagues decided to gift her something special and wanted to put the gift into a decorative box. My husband works in the custom furniture space, hence the box was created in the factory itself. At first an oval box was created but the plan then changed to place the gift in a heart-shaped box. Having done some artwork already on furniture like the shoe rack we sent to our home back in India and last year our curtain pelmets, his colleagues thought of me to add some artwork to the plain pale pink boxes.

Although we finally used only the heart-shaped box, here are pictures of both boxes I decorated. One of the ladies working in my husband’s office loved the oval box and kept it for herself to use in her wedding trousseau! I was really touched that my work brought so much joy to someone.

The inspiration for this on came from this artwork I found on Pinterest. I added a bit of my own personal creativity to the piece I found and came up with this. Absolutely loved the shape of the birds that makes this a super cute artwork!

I took a couple of close ups as well to show the artwork in more detail:

This box eventually went to another colleague of my husband, who loves it to bits!

The second box which eventually got used to package the gift was manufactured in heart shape. The very creative ladies in my husband’s office had the idea to place the gift in the centre and surround it with a colourful, bright and fresh flower arrangement.

Here’s the flower decorated box:

Had an amazing time decorating these boxes and challenging myself with yet another creative pursuit.

Until next time!
